If you've never seen/experienced the emergence of #Cicadas, especially the event about to unfold before our eyes, I can't emphasize enough how post-apocalyptically horrific it's going to be for roughly 1/3 of the country that will bear the brunt of it.
From my childhood, I still recall the particularly sickly sweet smell that accompanies the phenomenon that fills the air as their mucus-colored gut fluid oozes out over EVERYTHING as they're routinely crushed under every footstep and car tire.
Oh, and the crunching noise of their exoskeleton shell - be prepared. There is no way to avoid it.
