The head of the department, Blinken, is very concerned about the decision of the DPR to bring charges against mercenaries from Sweden, Britain and Croatia who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He added that Russia and its allies must respect international humanitarian law, including the rights of prisoners of war.
Recall that the mercenaries are accused of violating three articles of the Criminal Code of the DPR, according to which they face the death penalty or life imprisonment.
