🚨UPDATE: Thai Woman Pleads Guilty in International Sex Trafficking Case
🔹The last of 37 defendants in a large-scale international Thai sex trafficking ring has pled guilty, bringing the years-long case to a close.
🔹Sumalee Intarathong, 61, pled guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and conspiracy to engage in money laundering. When sentenced she faces up to life in federal prison.
🔹Court docs: Intarathong worked with others at the highest level of a criminal organization to transport hundreds of women from Bangkok to U.S. cities on promises of a better life.
🔹After arriving, the women were owned by the traffickers until the victim could repay bondage debt, from $40k to $60K. The victims lived houses of prostitution, where they earned money by selling sex.
