Yesterday, North West activists went on a hike to Winter Hill via Rivington Pike. We first walked to Rivington Pike, where we had spectacular views over West Lancashire and northern Greater Manchester. We then headed from the The Pike to Winter Hill via 'the two lads', an ancient burial site.
Winter Hill has a transmitting station serving the North West. The Transmitter is 309.5 metres high and is the highest transmitting station in the UK.
On our return we visited pigeon Tower and the remains of the Terraced Gardens. We finished with a well-deserved lunch.
