Since the SNP brought in their sentencing guidelines for under-25s that focus on "rehabilitation" and appear to favour the perpetrator over the victim, we have seem some terrible judicial sentencing decisions, but this has to be one of the worst.

A man who is now 21 violently sexually assaulted and raped a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions when he was 17. The judge has sentenced him to 275 hours of community service and a 3-year supervision order on the sex offenders register. If he was over 25 he would have received at least a 5-year prison sentence. Worst still, he has shown no remorse and is seeking to appeal this lenient sentence. He obviously is not "rehabilitated".

The poor victim must live with the stigma, memory and trauma of these events for the rest of her life, something she can never escape. He is free to get on with his life; she is having to serve a life sentence.

Scottish justice is a joke. Change is desperately needed. Help us to be the change.
