When I was 11, a tragedy took our father, leaving my 2 brothers and myself to be cared for solo by our mom.
Dad was both the breadwinner/disciplinarian in the family up to that point; to say she was thrust into unexpected roles is a gross understatement. She went back to work as a FT nurse, and finished raising us by herself for over 10 1/2yrs.

Mother's Day is about appreciation, yes.
But it is also so much more. The Love of a Mom knows no human equal.
