BREAKING: CISA was funding CIS as a way to pass along complaints to Twitter to remove “misinformation” from the platform without directly being connected to censorship portal.

DHS official Brian Scully, former head of the “Countering Foreign Influence Task Force,” conceded in an early 2023 deposition that “To the best of my knowledge, CISA provides funding” for the Center for Internet Security.

Emails later found by @mtaibbi revealed Scully passing along complaints to Twitter through CIS, often including the disclaimer: “The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is not the originator of this information.”

It was revealed that if a state official, police station or even a citizen made a complaint for “misinformation,” it would first be sent to that DHS-funded Center for Internet Security (CIS), which would then be routed to various other places via email addresses like [email protected].

The original complainants would receive a form notice, telling them their letters had been forwarded in two directions: to “our partners” at “the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency at the Department of Homeland Security,” and also to the “Election Integrity Partnership at Stanford University.”
