🇷🇺🇮🇷 The Washington Post, citing unnamed Western security officials, writes that Russia is preparing to launch a spy satellite for Iran. However, Russia will use it for several months to monitor it's military targets in Ukraine.

The publication notes that Roskosmos announced the launch of a satellite, called Khayyam, on August 9 as part of the implementation of an agreement with Iran. The satellite will be launched by a Russian Soyuz launch vehicle from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
