The number of bankruptcies in Sweden through February 2024 rose 62 per cent from a year earlier, reaching the highest in 30 years, Bloomberg reported. The highest growth was recorded among hotels and restaurants, followed by consulting firms and companies in the construction industry.

According to experts, the data shows the intensification of the economic crisis in the country. The Swedish business sector is "right at the epicentre of the storm": 19 consecutive months have seen a year-on-year increase in bankruptcies
