🇷🇴🇷🇺❌🇺🇦 Pro-Russian Romanian senator of Serbian origins, Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă, proposed today a new bill in the Romanian Parliament which called for the immediate denunciation of the Romanian—Ukrainian friendship treaty of 1997 and the immediate annexation of the historic Romanian territories lost in 1940, meaning Southern Bessarabia, Chernivtsi Oblast and Snake Island.

Article 3 which called for the "immediate annexation of historic Romanian territories" is an instant declaration of war targeting Ukraine.

The senator cited as motives, historic claims to the lands as they belonged to the medieval Principality of Moldavia since its inception in the 2nd half of the 14th century until 1812 after Russian annexation, regained in 1918 and lost again in 1940, the need to bring back the Romanian minority into the parent country, poor treatment of the Romanian minority in Ukraine and other violations of clauses of the 1997 friendship treaty.
