Five juveniles from Connecticut were killed and a 9-year-old survived in a fiery crash just after midnight Sunday in Westchester County, NY, according to police.

Kieran O’Leary, public information officer for Westchester County police, said a car carrying six juveniles crashed on the Hutchinson River Parkway around 12:20 a.m. Sunday.

The car, driven by a 16-year-old boy, was traveling north on the parkway when it veered off the roadway, struck a tree and caught on fire just north of the Mamaroneck Road exit in Scarsdale, N.Y., according to O’Leary.

Five occupants, ranging in age from 8 to 17, died in the crash, O’Leary said. Police have not yet released the names, ages or towns of residence of the victims, as investigators are still reaching out to their next of kin.
