Utah: A Springville Police officer was shot during a shootout. Police were responding to initial reports of shots fired. An officer found a car that crashed near 1200 W 1000 N. When officer got out, police say the driver of the car immediately started shooting at the officer.

The officer was hit in his leg and at the hospital. The man was killed during a shooting with that officer and a second officer. The release did not give any further details on the officer’s injuries. The other officer who was involved in the shooting was not injured.
