Rep Chris Stewart (R) has resigned his office, citing concerns for his wife's health. He was expected to run for Romney's Senate seat in the near future. He will leave office following an "orderly transition".
McCarthy has a 4 vote margin in the House. With Stewart leaving and Santos likely to be expelled sooner rather than later, that margin is gonna shrink.
