Still laughing that NBC is all, nope, itโ€™s too close to call. However, itโ€™s the below snippet which got my attention. How is the expected vote based on ballots being cast in real-time?

Granted, Iโ€™m a bit tired after 3.5hrs of sleep but wtaf? Shouldnโ€™t expected votes be based on the number of confirmed eligible voters prior to the vote rather than votes received? The good news is they know we see them so theyโ€™re totes fooked regardless. Oh. The NEP? Mockingbird cheater central.

The expected vote is the total number of votes that are expected in a given race once all votes are counted. This number is an estimate and is based on several different factors, including information on the number of votes cast early as well as information provided to our vote reporters on Election Day from county election officials. The figure can change as NBC News gathers new information.
