Signing off, goodnight everyone
Booster section of what looks like an Israeli air-launched Sparrow ballistic missile recovered from Wasit Governorate, Iraq, showing that IAF F-15s likely took part in the strikes against Isfahan.

While there are discrepancies amongst official Iranian narratives, the over arching theme is that small drones were intercepted over the city and that there was no ground damage.

Waiting on satellite imagery to see if there is anything.
Nothing from Iranian officials or media about retaliation still.

🇺🇸 An unidentified male has set himself on fire outside of former President Trump’s ongoing criminal trial at the New York State Supreme Court in #NewYork City, #UnitedStates. Several people were protesting in a nearby park with media crews present when this…
The self-immolating man in New York is allegedly Max Azzarello, a self described "investigative researcher" who seemingly released a manifesto with his act, dropping a pamphlet containing it along with a QR code to a substack of the text under the pseudonym "M. Crosby": https://theponzipapers.substack.com/p/i-have-set-myself-on-fire-outside

"“My name is Max Azzarello, and I am an investigative researcher who has set himself on fire outside of the Trump trial in Manhattan,” the nearly 2,700-word posting begins. It highlights grievances he holds with both U.S. political parties and their leaders, cryptocurrency systems, Peter Thiel, among other topics.

Moments before he doused himself in gasoline and set himself ablaze, Azzarello threw the stack of pamphlets into the air.

His LinkedIn profile picture features a picture with Bill Clinton, whom he sued last year in a conspiratorial theory case with more than 100 others, which was later thrown out. (https://dockets.justia.com/docket/new-york/nysdce/1:2023cv03197/597363)

A 2017 blog post by the nonprofit Strong Towns, since offline, features Max Azzarello and announces him as their new growth manager.

In his blurb, Azzarello calls his “childhood town” a “charming, friendly, eclectic community in Long Island, New York.”

The civic engagement-focused organization says Azzarello’s “passions” include “chess, creative writing, and Medieval Scandinavian poetry.”"– NY Post

"Police said that Mr Azzarello’s drivers license showed he was born in 1987 and was a native of St Augustine, Florida. A registered Democrat, he attended the University of North Carolina.

He is believed to have arrived in New York at some point between April 13 and April 19, family members who spoke to police said they were unaware that he was in the city.

Mr Azzarello was unknown to police prior to the incident and did not have a criminal history in New York, police said.

Following the incident Azzarello was described as being in a “very critical condition”, but alive" –The Independent
🇸🇩 The Last Battle for #Darfur: Alarms of Genocide:

The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (#RSF) of #Sudan have began to encircle El Fasher, the regional capital of North Darfur and the last remaining stronghold of the government in the entire Darfur region, after almost two weeks of fighting close to the city.

The UN, among other Sudanese and international human rights groups, have warned of an imminent attack upon El Fasher as RSF forces encircle the city. The RSF’s encirclement suggests a large, coordinated assault upon the city is soon to come in order to wrest the city from the control of the Sudanese Armed Forces (#SAF), and associated militias.

El Fasher is a city of approximately two million people. In addition to this, the city is reported to have around 500,000 internally displaced people (IDP), who have been displaced from combat around the country. The situation in the city is already dire, with many of the people there suffering from extreme hunger. In the Zamzam refugee camp, which lies nearby, it has been reported that one child dies every two hours. The camp, the largest of those in El Fasher, is completely unprotected.

International monitors have claimed that several hundred thousand civilians will be at immediate risk if an assault takes place upon the city.

Many of those within the city are fearful of an assault by the RSF. Fighting between the RSF and the SAF has reportedly already killed approximately 43 civilians since April 14th, when the RSF and SAF began clashing on the outskirts of the city. Both sides oftentimes rather indiscriminately bomb hostile targets, with the RSF launching mortar and artillery strikes towards the SAF that leads to civilian casualties, and the SAF doing the same in addition to air strikes and drone strikes that also often lead to civilian casualties.

The war in Sudan began last year, on April 15th, 2023. Since its beginning, at least 14,000 people have been killed, however the death toll is likely significantly higher. Several million people have been displaced, and over 18 million in Sudan face hunger issues.

🇺🇸 Tracking Recent #American MQ-9 Reaper Losses: https://theatlasnews.co/latest/2024/04/29/tracking-recent-american-mq-9-reaper-losses/

Over the past year, the United States has lost several MQ-9 Reaper drones due to adversarial action, whether it be from the Russians, Iran-backed militias in Iraq, or the Houthis in Yemen

While the MQ-9 has built its legacy on counter terrorism operations against non-state actors in permissive environments, the platform is not best suited for contested airspaces.

The MQ-9 flys lower and slower, as well as lacks any stealth components, when compared to manned strike aircraft used by the United States military. With this, the platform is susceptible to more air defense capabilities (i.e. ones supplied by Iran). Even if engaged, the Reaper lacks countermeasures and must be equipped with a Self-Protect Pod to allow for flare of chaff deployment when targeted by SAM systems.

According to the latest available data provide by the United States Air Force, the MQ-9 platform experiences on average 4.9 Class A mishaps per year, or incidents resulting in direct cost totaling $2 million or more, fatality or permanent total disability, or destruction of a DoD aircraft.

Was initially intrigued, but after the second post I am now highly skeptical. I think the plane nerd community has been trolled
