🇺🇸 Arizona judge declares mistrial in the case of a rancher accused of fatally shooting a migrant
An Arizona judge declared a mistrial Monday in the case of a rancher accused of fatally shooting a Mexican man on his property near the U.S.-Mexico border.
The decision came after jurors failed to reach a unanimous decision after more than two full days of deliberation in trial of George Alan Kelly, 75, who was charged with second-degree murder in the Jan. 30, 2023, shooting of Gabriel Cuen-Buitimea.
🗣 “Based upon the jury’s inability to reach a verdict on any count,” Superior Court Judge Thomas Fink said, “This case is in mistrial.”
The Santa Cruz County Attorney’s Office can still decide whether to retry Kelly for any charge, or drop the case all together.

Strategically, it will not change anything for Israel, Hamas will suffer some losses, but will continue to resist, several thousand (at best) civilians will be killed and civilian infrastructure will be destroyed. 🔶️ From the model I'm getting 60.1 days until Rafah Governorate is taken once the invasion is started. IDF appears to not intend to capture the entire governorate but only most of it, since they're saying 6 weeks instead of 2 months
🔶️ After that they will establish a second corridor along the border similar to netzarim. They'll probably destroy 30-50% of houses in Rafah
🔶️ But as long as no evacuation zone is called theres no need to panick or get excited. As soon as the evacuation zones are called its on. Until then just long boring waiting.

🔶️ The package of foreign aid and TikTok legislation is expected to clear the Senate and be signed into law by President Joe Biden in the coming days.
🔶️ The Senate voted Tuesday to advance the $95 billion aid package to provide critical aid to Ukraine and a provision that could lead to a nationwide ban on TikTok.
🔶️ The vote of 80-19 indicates the legislation has enough support to clear the Senate in a final vote, which could come as soon as Tuesday evening, and then head to President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
🔶️ And it would give TikTok’s China-based parent company nine months, which the president could extend to a year, to sell the popular social media platform or be banned in the U.S. That puts TikTok closer than ever before to a prohibition while ensuring that it won’t be banned until after the 2024 election.
