Happy Sunday! ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

How many are Your works, LORD! In wisdom You made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures.
Psalm 105:24
The fear on every platform is palpable today. If you are scared, put your phone down. Go for a walk, pray, listen to some music, cook a nice meal, get out into nature, run some errands, etc. I promise it'll help. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ
When you watch violent war videos, you're not helping anyone or changing anything. It might give you some subconscious illusion of control, but really, all you are doing is damaging your soul and hardening your heart. You don't need to watch war footage to understand wickedness; you already know how evil humans can be toward each other.
The war porn is getting more intense by the day. It was rejuvenating to unplug today. I caught up on everything in 15 minutes.

Back in the day, I used to be scared of ISIS. I had tuned out of politics, but consumed just enough news to live with underlying fears. I didn't realize until years later why ISIS vanished. Thank you, President Trump.

Danean's J6 prison update:

I was convicted of four non-violent misdemeanors at bench trial. I will self-surrender to federal prison around noon today. I am scheduled to be released January 17th, 2024.

I hear that letters in prison are good morale boosters, so if you'd like to write, please do! (I will only be allowed to buy 20 stamps per week, so if I can't reply, that'll be why.)

I am still unsure of my mailing address. It depends on whether I'm assigned to the low security side or the camp. I won't know until after intake. You should be able to find my address and acceptable forms of correspondence on the website below by entering my BOP Register Number, which is 76569-509.

Thanks again to everyone who has been praying for me. I'm feeling remarkably unafraid. I attribute that to God and how many of your prayers He is answering.

I love you guys. See you here next year!

Hebrews 13:3
Thank you guys for your kind comments and prayers. I'm going to disable the chat now. Be back in a few months. :)
Just a quick post to say that I was released from prison yesterday, January 2nd. I'm taking a few days to sit quietly and process the last 78 days, so comments are still turned off.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for me and wrote to me. I appreciate you!
I have a bad cold with a fever since Friday, so I'm absent longer than anticipated. See you here once I'm on the mend!
It's interesting to have been cut off from the internet for 78 days while in prison, then to see with fresh eyes the amount of emotional manipulation both sides of the "news" thrust upon us daily.

One case in point: I have watched Conservative media in hysterics all day partly because Ray Epps was allowed to call in to be sentenced over Zoom. They shout that it's unheard of for J6 defendants. It's not. I was sentenced via Zoom. Even my verdict was delivered via Zoom.
Thank you so much to everyone who wrote to me while I was in prison. Your letters were great morale boosters.

My mail delivery was a mess. I'd get nothing for weeks, then get 43 letters in a day, all postmarked weeks before.

If you wrote to me and it was postmarked after December 5th, I never got it. I was released January 2nd, but they withheld everything postmarked after December 5th. A staff member arranged for my withheld mail to be given to me upon release, but they didn't give it to me. Now it is being returned to sender.

There were several dozen Canadian geese who lived at the prison I was in. So many inmates were terrified of them and almost everyone hated that they squawked outside our cells all night every night. I absolutely loved them. Their loud squawking transformed the harsh atmosphere and brought me peace.

My second cell mate and I didn't get along well at all. The strain was rough on both of us. We were completely different in all the important ways. But we both adored the geese. We bonded over that. Our love for the geese helped us see the good in each other. I don't think we would have parted as friends without them.

She and I were released the same day and have no contact. I smile imagining her missing our prison geese, too. :)
This verse and commentary by Chuck Smith helped me a lot recently. Maybe it'll help you, too.

Palate cleanser. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

When I was young and living in my first apartment, I had a goldfish and no TV. I'd come home from work and put my hand in my fish's big bowl and he'd swim over and rest his body in my hand for several minutes. This fish reminds me of him and makes me smile.
Please pray Gavin is next. He almost killed my elderly, confined, blind friend by forcing his Covid-positive roommate back into my friend's room. My friend's roommate died; my friend ended up in the hospital with Covid and thankfully survived.
