WATCH — On February 20, 2019, Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper agreed with Former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe that then-President Trump could be a Russian asset.

CLAPPER: "I completely agree with the way Andy characterized it, it is a possibility. I believe the FBI was institutionally obligated to do what it did; to initiate an investigation into [DJT]."

Andrew McCabe justified why he opened a counterintelligence investigation into Trump. "We thought a potential threat to national security might exist, that being, that the President of the United States may have attempted to obstruct Justice in his efforts to thwart and impede our investigation of Russian influence, and if he had done so, why would any President try to stop the FBI from investigating what the Russians might have done to our election."
