Hey guys!! I wanted to drop in and give u an update. I see your comments wondering where I am..

3 months ago my daughter got her blood results back and her platelets were dangerously low. We referred to a hematologist/oncologist. He started thorough testing and we’ve been left with no answers other than he was ruling out leukemia for the time being. Her platelets were at 40k and should be at 150k. She’s had good days and bad days w/ headaches, dizziness and just exhausted.

Yesterday at her appointment her platelets dropped to 13k and we got the dreaded news that they would be testing her for leukemia. As you can imagine, I lost my mind. We got a call from the oncologist late last night and three specialists have ruled out leukemia and she will start transfusions next week. She isn’t able to play softball for now and as most of you know, we live at the softball fields.

Daughter Update:
She had her IVIG infusion on Wednesday. Took 5 hours because they slowly increase the medicine in hopes it reduces side effects. She’s so brave & did great, but Thursday afternoon she got a severe headache, fever and vomiting.

We had our follow up Friday and her platelets came up to 210k. In two weeks they will recheck them to see if they hold. I pray she doesn’t have to do another infusion. He may try steroids. She just started feeling back to herself last night.

Thank you all for your prayers and sharing your stories. That meant more to me than you know because this is all new to us. Love you guys ❤️
