Today our thoughts are with our friend and comrade, the (now) political prisoner Sven Longshanks (James Allchurch).
He has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for simply saying things that the state does not like, for standing up for his people and making his voice heard. We live in a tyranny with a corrupt judiciary and this sentence is a complete miscarriage of justice.

On 15 May 2023, James Allchurch a.k.a Sven Longshanks was jailed for 2.5 years. He was on trial for a series of podcasts he put out years ago, the claim being that he intended to incite racial hatred with those broadcasts.
Years after their release, with no-one having suffered from those broadcasts, no-one citing them as a basis for any hate crime and without even a single complaint from the public, the British state raided James's home and arrested him.
After an extensive investigation and delayed trial, James was found guilty on multiple counts, despite some jurors originally saying this case should be tossed out entirely.
Adding insult to injury: the judge who jailed Sven, one Huw Rees, has REPEATEDLY let paedophiles walk free, yet chose to jail a nationalist over spoken words.
This fundraiser is raising money for James while he is held as a political prisoner of the tyrannical British state. Money will be sent to his commissary funds while he is inside and to help him find his feet upon his release.

Today in Welsh history... 16 May 1831, David Edward Hughes, inventor of the printing telegraph and considered by most historians to have invented the carbon microphone, the direct prototype of modern microphones, was born in Corwen.
From a musically talented family from Bala Hughes’ family emigrated from North Wales to the United States when he was aged seven. In adulthood, Hughes became a professor of music and patented a printing telegraph in 1855. The Hughes telegraph, was the first telegraph printing text on a paper tape. He moved to London in 1857 where he experimented with the transmission of sound, developing a carbon microphone in 1857.
At the same time, Emile Berliner and Thomas Edison were conducting similar experiments in the US and although Edwards had demonstrated his device some years earlier, it was Edison who was awarded the patent.

PA North East enjoyed a sunny family day out at Jarrow Hall Anglo-Saxon Farm. It was great seeing all the different farm animals and excitement from the children.
The staff were busy restoring some of the wattle and daub buildings so it was really interesting observing the old ways of construction.
After we went to the near park to enjoy a picnic, with a banner drop at the nearby Norman ruins at Jarrow church.
It was a brilliant day out enjoyed by all.

Tudor Thomas was an opthalmic surgeon who in 1934 restored the sight of a man who had been blind for 27 years using a pioneering corneal grafting technique. He instigated the establishment in 1955 of a national eye bank.
His pioneering work in the field of corneal grafting brought him many honours. But it was not the honours or awards that mattered – his lasting contribution would be the countless patients who owed their restored sight to the care and dexterity of this remarkable Welsh surgeon.

His citation reads:
‘Private John Williams was posted with Private Joseph Williams, and Private William Horrigan in a distant room of the hospital, which they held for more than an hour, so long as they had a round of ammunition left... Private John Williams, who, with two patients, were the only men now left alive in this ward, succeeded in knocking a hole in the partition, and in taking the two patients into the next ward, where he found Private Hook. These two men together, one man working whilst the other fought and held the enemy at bay with his bayonet, broke through three more partitions, and were thus enabled to bring eight patients through a small window into the inner line of defence.’
His citation reads:
