Venezuela’s state-run oil company PDVSA plans to use digital currencies to settle crude oil trade and not US dollar. The move comes after US reimposes sanctions on Venezuela making it harder for Latin American country to trade. Also, US made it difficult for the country to export crude oil and Venezuela is now looking at digital currency payments. Venezuela has also applied to join BRICS and is looking to be a part of the grouping.
“We have different currencies, according to what is stated in contracts,” said Venezuelan oil minister Pedro Tellechea to Reuter’s. He added that in some contracts, it is specified that payment methods will include digital currencies. Therefore, the US dollar will no longer be required to settle crude oil trade with Venezuela and is taking a leave from BRICS ideals.

On Tuesday morning, a source close to Hezbollah told AFP an Israeli drone strike deep into Lebanon killed an engineer working for group's air defence forces as he was travelling in a vehicle.
The strike hit Abu al-Aswad area near the coastal city of Tyre, some 35 kilometres (22 miles) from the border, an AFP journalist reported.
The fighter's vehicle was completely burnt out.
Earlier Tuesday, Israeli army had said it killed "two significant terrorists in Hezbollah's aerial unit" on Tuesday morning and overnight.
The fighter killed Tuesday was "heavily involved in the planning and execution of terrorist attacks against Israel," it added.
On Sunday evening, Hezbollah shot down an Israeli drone, both sides said.
