Gambling debt paid from pot for abuse victims - "Shame on you"

In connection with the settlement of a priest's gambling debts, the Archdiocese of Cologne has paid a total of 1.15 million euros from a special episcopal fund. It took over gambling debts of the clergyman amounting to almost 500,000 euros, which were paid in several installments in 2015 and 2016. Apparently, however, the money was not taxed correctly. Therefore, the archdiocese also paid a total of 650,000 euros in back payroll taxes, including interest. The debt settlement, which was first reported by the "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" and the WDR, caused outrage. Part of the money was taken from the archbishop's fund "for special needs", from which, among other things, victims of sexual abuse are supported. Johannes Norpoth, spokesman for the victims' advisory council of the German Bishops' Conference, described the incident in the "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" as "disturbing and shameful".

My comment:
Bad enough that there is an abuse victims pot in the accounting of a Catholic church, but this fund then still for gambling debts to abuse, shows how sick and perverted the Catholic Church is!
Let it melt on the tongue - an abuse victim pot firmly planned in the bookkeeping of a diocese! The Catholic Church operates this abuse for years and always comes without large punishments of it. Why probably?

Spielschulden aus Topf für Missbrauchsopfer gezahlt – „Schämt euch in Grund und Boden“

Im Zusammenhang mit der Begleichung von Spielschulden eines Priesters hat das Erzbistum Köln insgesamt 1,15 Millionen Euro aus einem bischöflichen Sondervermögen gezahlt. Es übernahm Spielschulen des Geistlichen in Höhe von knapp 500.000 Euro, die 2015 und 2016 in mehreren Tranchen gezahlt wurden. Offenbar wurde das Geld aber nicht korrekt versteuert. Deshalb hat die Erzdiözese zudem noch insgesamt 650.000 Euro Lohnsteuer inklusive Zinsen nachgezahlt. Die Schuldentilgung, über die zuerst der „Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger“ und der WDR berichtet hatten, löste Empörung aus. Ein Teil des Geldes wurde dem Fonds des Erzbischofs „für besondere Bedürfnisse“ entnommen, aus dem unter anderem auch Opfer sexuellen Missbrauchs unterstützt werden. Johannes Norpoth, Sprecher des Betroffenenbeirats der Deutschen Bischofskonferenz, bezeichnete den Vorgang im „Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger“ als „verstörend und beschämend“.

Mein Kommentar:
Schlimm genug das es einen Missbrauchsopfer Topf in der Buchhaltung einer katholischen Kirche gibt, aber diesen Fond dann noch für Spielschulden zu missbrauchen, zeigt doch krank und pervers die Katholische Kirche ist!
Lasst es euch auf der Zunge zergehen - ein Missbrauchsopfer Topf fest eingeplant in der Buchhaltung eines Bistums!! Die katholische Kirche betreibt diesen Missbrauch seit Jahren und kommt immer ohne große Strafen davon.. Warum wohl?
