Fawkner Park Protest Review 05.12.20

Today approximately 500 people gathered at Fawkner Park to march to St. Kilda Beach for Freedom in Victoria.

The day started with an early pre-gathering of demonstrators around 1:45pm when we were approached by members of Victoria Police to declare that the Rally would not be interfered with, for which we appreciate the significant improvement in process on their behalf.
Demonstrators brought flags, banners and loudspeakers to Reject COVID normal, and demand medical freedom from Coronavirus Tyranny.

At 2:00pm, the group moved towards the pavilion area, where we had several speeches from our demonstrators and our organizers.

After the speeches were delivered, the group announced the marching location to the attendees: St. Kilda Beach.

With the crowd united and on the move, we marched from Fawkner Park down St. Kilda Road, and along Fitzroy Street with what appeared to be a supervisory and crowd managing contingent of Victoria Police. Instead of being kettled, arrested, and fined, we had roads cleared in advance of our path, which helped us to cleanly move through the city streets towards the beach.

Passers by joined in our chants, which included:
"No Covid Normal", "Human Rights Matter", "Sack Dan Andrews", "Free Victoria" and many others.

Some signs read: "I Will Not Sit Down. I will Not Shut Up. I will Not Comply With COVID Normal."

A contingent of Flagbearers with Australian Flags, Eureka Flags, Gadsden Flags, and Red Ensign Flags lead our demonstrators along the roads toward the beach, through the busy and active streets of St. Kilda.

Upon reaching the Beach, we found a monument and took some pictures, before moving to the foreshore.
The crowd moved onto the open grass lawn in front of the St. Kilda beach shore and gathered for some final speeches and a send off for the day.
Our event had no arrests or Fines issued, and all of our demonstrators were able to remain around the area to mingle and have some drinks afterwards.
We appreciate the major shift in the policy of Victoria Police, and hope that this new standard of non-intervention is maintained going forward.

Melbourne Freedom Rally condemns the newly planned Victorian Permitting system that is launching to restrict the Freedom of Movement of all Australians that choose to visit our State.

This permitting system represents yet another authoritarian impulse undertaken by the Andrews Government to Limit the Freedom of Victorians, by requiring that they apply for a permit under a 3-tier Traffic Light system to enter Victoria, even if they are a Victorian resident.

This leaves every Australian potentially stranded at any time, and unable to return home.

This plan should be scrapped immediately.

All Australians should have the freedom to enter and exit Victoria, without Government overreach.

Interstate travel requires a permit in the Communist Nation of China, and this program further highlights the real extent of the Communist Inspired dictatorial instincts of Daniel Andrews, and his cabinet ministers.

To make matters worse, the platform to get the permits is allegedly not even working for the people that have tried to use it.

Australia is One United Federation.

We are not going to accept a Red, Yellow, and Green coloured Biomedical Totalitarian Caste System.

Poll – Mainstream Australians Continue To Support Australia Day On 26 January

69% of Australians support Australia Day being celebrated on January 26 according to a new poll of 1,038 Australians commissioned by the Institute of Public Affairs.

The polling (data collected by Dynata) reveals that only 11% of Australians think the date of Australia Day should be changed while 82% were ‘proud to be an Australian’ – only 5% disagree.

“Mainstream Australians are fundamentally optimistic and positive about Australia and its values,” said Dr Bella d’Abrera, Director of the Foundations of Western Civilisation Program at the IPA.

“Celebrating Australia Day should unite all Australians” said Dr d’Abrera.

The polling also finds that of those surveyed:

73% believe ‘Australia has a history to be proud of’ – only 11% disagree.
72% believe ‘Australia Day is an authentic way for Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to celebrate being Australian’ – only 12% disagree.
86% said ‘Australia Day should be an opportunity to respect the contribution that everyone has, and can, make to Australia’.
This is the fourth year in which the IPA has surveyed Australians’ about keeping Australia Day on January 26, and over this period Australians have consistently demonstrated overwhelming support for keeping the date. The percentage in favour of keeping the date has ranged between 75% and 69%, while the percentage wanting to change the date has flatlined at around 11%.

“Despite the tired narrative being pushed by a minority of activists to change the date, support for their cause has not moved,” said Dr d’Abrera.

“Australians have had enough of being told that they need to be ashamed of their country, and that it is wrong to celebrate its success “

“26 January marks the foundation of modern Australia, and the freedoms that go with it. Modern Australia is defined by freedoms which are enjoyed by all Australians. This is something that should be celebrated, not denigrated.”

“Australians are fundamentally proud to be Australian and recognise that Australia has a history to be proud of,” said Dr d’Abrera.

Why is the next World Wide Rally for Freedom two months away?

• The World Wide Rally for Freedom is a large and highly co-ordinated international event that optimizes for the maximum attendance rate across over 150 cities at the same time.
• This event requires a lot of planning, community building, team work, and preparation to put on, that most people do not see.
• We leave a time gap so that local organizers can host other events that are not aligned internationally in the weekends in between.
• If the WWRFF was every week, it would clash with many other event organizers that do their own events on other weekends all over the world, and it would not receive promotional backing by other organizers in the movement as it would clash with their own events.
• The WWRFF claims a weekend of time and effort resource capacity once per two months in order to maintain a high signal to noise ratio for the event, and so that it can become an international focal point for the movement to align around and invest significant promotional resources into.
• For the same reason you can't have Christmas every week, you can't have WWRFF every week. Someone has to plan it, pay for it, and do a lot of work to organize it in every city it is hosted in.
