Dear fellow citizens,

"Never take anything a government tells you at face value!"

Those of you who have been following me in my work at the EU Parliament on social media for some time will know that this sentence is a firm basis for all my actions.

Contrary to the protestations of the political establishment, it was not Corona that disrupted our economy in the past two years, but the government's excessive coercive measures. A new edition, including further restrictions on fundamental rights, can be expected starting again this fall.

It is not the war in Ukraine that is the main reason for record-high gas, fuel and consumer prices, but the government's stubborn adherence to ineffective sanctions that are hurting us all the more.

And even if the TV wants to tell us a hundred times that Corona and the Ukraine war are to blame for high inflation, the truth is that it is the ECB's longstanding disastrous monetary policy that is pushing consumer sentiment down to record lows and prices up through the roof.

After Germany simultaneously abandoned coal and nuclear power as part of its long-failed energy transition, the parties and politicians responsible for it now suddenly realize that they have become too dependent on Russian gas. Oh what?

And while we citizens are being preached austerity and promised ever new cost explosions, the oil multinationals of this world are currently raking in huge record profits. British energy giant Shell has more than doubled its profits compared to the same quarter last year - despite the war in Ukraine. The French group TotalEnergies even managed to almost triple its profit and announced share repurchases of up to two billion dollars. The adjusted net profit of the Italian oil corporation Eni was even more than four times higher in the second quarter than a year earlier. According to analysts' calculations, this pushes the return for Eni shareholders to over 14 percent.

If you look behind the curtain, you will always see the same pattern: while global companies rake in huge profits, and incompetent politicians cause one fiasco after another, it is always the ordinary citizen who ends up footing the bill for everything.

How out-of-touch and shameless our German political actors have become is exemplified by former German President Joachim Gauck, who recently declared: "We can also freeze for freedom once in a while. And we can also put up with having less happiness and joy in life for a few years." Easy to say for someone who is on the taxpayer's pocket with an honorary salary of around 18,000 euros per month. Economics Minister Robert Habeck (25,573 euros per month) and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen (27,916 euros per month) recently also showed up with similar words of wisdom.

In this way, politicians are cleverly trying to shift the responsibility for their own mistakes onto the citizens. Those citizens who have long been under enormous pressure. Because anyone who is already having problems paying his or her gas or electricity bill, or is perhaps already cutting back on food purchases, has long since ceased to sit in the cozy corner from which Habeck and Co. believe they have to drive this person out.

No matter how bad things will get for us citizens, one thing is certain: these ladies and gentlemen will never have to taste the bitter taste of that medicine they try to administer to us.

Let's not allow the government and the politicians of the established parties to continue to pull the wool over our eyes. Instead let’s look around for real alternatives!

„Nehmen Sie nie etwas, was Ihnen eine Regierung erzählt, für bare Münze!“

Wer mir bei meiner Arbeit im EU-Parlament schon länger über die Sozialen Medien folgt, der weiß, daß dieser Satz für mich eine feste Grundlage meines Handelns ist.

Entgegen den Beteuerungen des politischen Establishments hat in den vergangenen zwei Jahren nicht etwa Corona unsere Wirtschaft zerrüttet, sondern es waren die überzogenen Zwangsmaßnahmen der Regierung. Mit einer Neuauflage inkl. weiterer Grundrechtseinschränkungen darf ab kommenden Herbst wieder gerechnet werden.

Nicht der Krieg in der Ukraine ist hauptursächlich für Gas-, Sprit- und Verbraucherpreise auf Rekordhoch, sondern das sture Festhalten der Regierung an wirkungslosen Sanktionen, die dafür aber umso mehr uns selbst schaden.

Und auch wenn der Fernseher uns hundertmal erzählen will, daß Corona und Ukrainekrieg schuld seien an der hohen Inflation, so ist es in Wahrheit doch die langjährige desaströse Geldpolitik der EZB, welche die Verbraucherstimmung auf Rekordtief und die Preise durch die Decke drückt

Nachdem Deutschland im Rahmen seiner längst gescheiterten Energiewende gleichzeitig aus Kohle- und Atomstrom ausgestiegen ist, stellen die dafür verantwortlichen Parteien und Politiker nun plötzlich fest, daß man sich zu abhängig von russischem Gas gemacht habe. Ach was?

Und während uns Bürgern Verzicht gepredigt und immer neue Kostenexplosionen in Aussicht gestellt werden, fahren die Ölmultis dieser Welt gerade riesige Rekordgewinne ein. Der britische Energieriese Shell hat seinen Gewinn – trotz Ukrainekrieg – im Vergleich zum Vorjahresquartal mehr als verdoppelt. Der französische Konzern TotalEnergies konnte seinen Gewinn sogar fast verdreifachen und kündigte Aktienrückkäufe in Höhe von bis zu zwei Milliarden Dollar an. Der bereinigte Nettogewinn des italienischen Ölkonzerns Eni lag im zweiten Quartal sogar mehr als viermal so hoch wie noch im Jahr zuvor. Laut den Berechnungen von Analysten steigt die Rendite für Eni-Aktionäre damit auf über 14 Prozent.

Wer hinter den Vorhang schaut, erkennt immer dasselbe Muster: Während globale Unternehmen satte Gewinne einstreichen, unfähige oder überforderte Politiker ein Fiasko nach dem anderen anrichten, ist es am Ende immer der normale Bürger, der die Zeche für alles zahlt.

Wie abgehoben und schamlos unsere deutschen Politdarsteller mittlerweile sind zeigt sich exemplarisch an Ex-Bundespräsident Joachim Gauck, der unlängst erklärte: „Wir können auch einmal frieren für die Freiheit. Und wir können auch mal ein paar Jahre ertragen, dass wir weniger an Lebensglück und Lebensfreude haben.“ Leicht gesagt für jemanden, der dem Steuerzahler mit einem Ehrensold von rund 18.000 Euro pro Monat auf der Tasche liegt. Mit ähnlichen Weisheiten taten sich unlängst auch Wirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck (25.573 Euro pro Monat) und EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen (27.916 Euro pro Monat) hervor.

Die Politik versucht damit die Verantwortung für ihre selbstverbockten Fehler geschickt den Bürgern in die Schuhe zu schieben. Schuhe, die übrigens nicht selten längst große Löcher in den Sohlen haben. Denn wer jetzt schon Probleme hat, seine Gas- oder Strom-Rechnung zu zahlen, oder sich vielleicht bereits beim Lebensmittelkauf einschränkt, der sitzt schon längst nicht mehr in der Kuschelecke, aus der Habeck und Co. glauben ihn oder sie vertreiben zu müssen

Egal wie knüppeldick es für uns Bürger noch kommen wird, eines ist sicher: Diese Damen und Herren werden niemals den bitteren Geschmack jener Medizin kosten müssen, die sie uns Bürgern verabreichen.

Lassen wir uns nicht weiter von der Regierung und den Politikern der Altparteien über den Tisch ziehen und sehen wir uns stattdessen nach echten Alternativen um!

Kurz nachdem Bundesgesundheitsminister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) sich heute um 14:39 Uhr zum Entwurf des neuen Infektionsschutzgesetzes auf Twitter äußerte, zuckte es erstmals im Kurs der Biontech-Aktie. Als Bundesjustizminister Marco Buschmann (FDP) kurz darauf um 15:18 Uhr nachlegte, schoss der Aktienkurs des „Impfstoff“-Herstellers schließlich richtig nach oben.
Aber da hat bestimmt nichts mit nichts zu tun, oder?

Shortly after German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) commented on the draft of the new Infection Protection Act on Twitter at 2:39 p.m. today, the price of Biontech shares twitched for the first time. When Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann (FDP) followed up shortly afterwards at 3:18 p.m., the share price of the "vaccine" manufacturer finally really shot up.
But there's certainly nothing to do with nothing, is there?
