⚡️Germany Offers Russian Deserters Asylum
Germany is ready to accept Russian citizens who desert from military duty by offering asylum “on grounds of political persecution”, ministers said Thursday.
The European Commission is set to discuss the issue of issuing humanitarian visas to Russians on Thursday, but there has been no decision yet.
Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics said that for reasons of national security, the Baltic Republic will not issue humanitarian or other types of visas to Russian citizens who evade mobilization.
Separately, Justice Minister Marco Buschmann tweeted using the hashtag "partial mobilization" that "apparently, many Russians are leaving their homeland - anyone who hates Putin's path and loves liberal democracy is welcome in Germany".

As Iran rages in protest, the hacktivist group has taken down the official website of Ali Khamenei.
Anonymous targeted the page a few hours after it claimed to be in control of more than 300 street surveillance cameras in the country.
It continues to step up its cyber operations after attacks on the central bank website, its forensic data research centre - while posting a message, "We Are With You."
Reports have suggested Tehran has been blocking the Internet during mass demonstrations over the death of a young woman in police custody.

59% of trips will not go ahead as of Sept 21, according to Flight Master - yet the reasons for the cancellations are not yet known.
Flights in China's western provinces have been most affected, the site reports, as news outlet Netease claims recent Covid-19 outbreaks to be the cause.
Investigative journalist Zhao Lanjian made (so far) unverified claims on Twitter citing military operations as the reason.
According to Zhao’s tweet: “This mass cancellation of flights must be a military directive. Air traffic control authority is decided by the Chinese military, which in turn gives instructions to civil aviation management. The airspace is set aside so that military aircraft can fly at will. This is military planning, or at least with military prep.”
Zhao is the reporter who investigated the chained woman, a victim of child trafficking and sexual persecution in Xuzhou, China’s eastern Jiangsu Province. Zhao was targeted by local police and national security agents after posting his investigation online. He fled China via Malaysia and arrived in the United States in July.
