In 2017, the Nigeria #AMR Technical Working Group identified limited diagnostics utilisation & inadequate lab quality assurance as major factors affecting effective pathogen identification & #antimicrobial susceptibility testing in Nigerian health facilities.

In an ongoing collaboration between the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control & Robert Koch Institut, a baseline study was conducted aimed to improve diagnostic stewardship & expand #AntimicrobialResistance surveillance capacity, particularly in Nigerian secondary healthcare facilities.

Following a risk assessment and to strengthen our response, a national multisectoral Emergency Operations Centre for #Monkeypox has been activated.

The EOC will continue to coordinate ongoing response activities in-country while contributing to the global response.
#Monkeypox is usually self-limiting, with symptoms lasting between 2 and 3 weeks.

Report to a healthcare facility close to you for accurate diagnosis immediately, if you notice any of these symptoms 👆🏾
