In 2017, #Nigeria conducted a baseline Joint External Evaluation (JEE), followed by a country-led 2019 mid-term JEE, to thoroughly assess the country's public health security system using a multisectoral approach that involved external & internal teams of experts.

This year, we are reiterating our commitment to prioritising our national health security by conducting the national JEE 3.0 in line with International Health Regulations.

A suspected case of #YellowFever is any person with sudden fever, vomiting, serious back pain, with yellowness of the eye and skin appearing within 14 days.

Take all sick persons to a healthcare facility immediately for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Environmental hygiene is key!

Practice proper environmental hygiene to prevent the spread of #cholera at home and in your communities

STOP open defaecation
Dispose of waste in designated areas
Keep sewers clear from refuse
Clear stagnant water

The #anthrax outbreak in Ghana poses a great public health risk to #Nigeria due to the dangerous and highly transmissible nature of the disease.

Given the #EidulAdha festivity, the National One Health Coordinating Unit led by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Veterinary & Pest Control Services - FMARD has published a public health advisory.
