We have activated the national multisectoral Emergency Operations Centre for #LassaFever in response to a risk assessment placing the country at a "High Risk" of increased spread and impact.

The assessment considered factors including:
➡️Increased number of states reporting cases
➡️High death rate of confirmed cases
➡️Low index of suspicion among healthcare workers.
➡️HCW infections and deaths
➡️Deterioration of essential healthcare.

The highest burden of #CerebrospinalMeningitis in Nigeria occurs in the “Meningitis Belt” which includes all 19 states in the Northern region, the FCT, and some southern states.
