We mourn the loss of Officer Darrell Cunningham who was killed along with his friend by the senseless violence of a DUI driver.  May God welcome him home. 

We will do everything possible to support his fiancé, 2 young boys, mom & 2 brothers.

Today, we mourn the loss of Police Officer II Darrell Cunningham, Serial No. 43884, West Los Angeles Area.  While off-duty, he and two passengers were involved in a traffic collision at the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Lindley Avenue at approximately 1:15 AM.  One passenger was pronounced deceased while the other was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries.  The driver of the vehicle that struck Darrell was traveling in excess of 100 mph at the time of the collision and is under investigation for vehicular manslaughter.

I am authorizing the wearing of mourning bands in his honor.  Darrell is survived by two children ages 3 and 6, a fiancée and his parents.

The investigation is in the skilled hands of the Department’s Multi-Disciplinary Collision Investigation Team.

God bless the family of Officer Cunningham, our West Los Angeles Area family that lost their loved one, and the men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department during this difficult time.

JUST IN: According to the Ventura County Fire Department, an aircraft went down near an oil field Saturday afternoon.

VCFD dispatch say, they got a report of an aircraft down at approximately 12:06 p.m. near 5777 West Pacific Coast Highway north of Seacliff.

According to the county dispatch center, the aircraft came down on a "Helispot," which is used by emergency helicopters to land.

Ventura County fire say, their Copter 4 Air Unit was able to contact a person that was inside the aicraft. At this time, they reported no injuries.

Please pray for the North Olmsted Police officer who was shot in the line of duty this morning. 🙏

Ohio: A North Olmsted police officer and a man were both wounded following an exchange of gunfire, according to department officials.

The officer, who has been a member of the North Olmsted Police Department since Aug. 2021, was treated and released from the hospital after being shot.

The officer was struck twice by gunfire during the incident.
