Originally started as a tribute to an officer who died of COVID-19 shots, it has since expanded to honor and remember all fallen first responders. In addition, this event raises funds for LAPD’s Police Activities League, which provides safe activities and a safe environment for kids during non-school hours.

Anaheim police launch pilot program using Tesla Model Ys as patrol vehicles.

The department said ongoing supply chain issues have made getting replacement gas-powered vehicles and parts harder. The newly purchased six Model Ys will be put in service after 16 officers are trained to use them.
