Alabama: A Jacksonville Police officer was injured around 2 a.m. Saturday morning during a car chase that ended in an officer-involved shooting, according to Jacksonville Police Chief Marcus Wood.
Weaver Police chased the suspect into Jacksonville, where Jacksonville Police joined the chase. Police caught up to the vehicle near the 5000 block of Alexandria-Jacksonville Highway, says Chief Wood.
The suspect turned his car around and rammed a Jacksonville squad car head-on, before backing up to try again. The officer exited his vehicle and drew his firearm in an attempt to stop the suspect. The suspect then hit the officer with his car.
Chief Wood says the suspect pulled back to make another attempt, and the officer fired a single shot.
Both the officer and suspect were taken to Anniston RMC. The officer was treated and released, while the suspect was transferred to UAB Hospital.

A brutal winter storm caused a large semi-truck to slide directly into the path of a South Dakota Highway Patrol cruiser on a slippery Interstate.
According to the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 12:08 p.m on Thursday, law enforcement officers were dispatched to Interstate 90 near MP 395 for an injury crash involving a South Dakota Highway Patrol vehicle and a semi-tractor/trailer.
The trooper was providing traffic control for another crash when a semi lost control and slammed into the trooper’s car. Police said that the driver of the semi-truck was driving quickly on the snowy roads while visibility was low.
"Slow down! You have somewhere to be," South Dakota Highway Patrol wrote in a Facebook post following the collision. "Ice and snow, go slow."

Two members of the Narcotics Unit in uniform conducted a traffic stop. The suspect was detained and during a consent search of the vehicle officers located 25 pounds of methamphetamine.
