“Australia will buy as many as five US nuclear-powered submarines and later build a new model with US and British technology under an ambitious plan to beef up Western muscle across the Asia-Pacific in the face of a rising China, a US official said Monday.

President Joe Biden was hosting his Australian and British counterparts, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, on a US naval base in San Diego, California, to announce the plan.

Australia, which joined the newly formed AUKUS group with Washington and London 18 months ago, will not be getting nuclear weapons. However, with nuclear propulsion, the new submarine fleet will add substantial new strength to the Western alliance seeking to push back against China’s own military expansion.

Biden’s national security advisor, Jake Sullivan, told reporters flying on Air Force One to California that the submarine plan illustrated Washington’s long-term commitment to guarding “peace and stability” in the Asia-Pacific region.”

“The Biden administration has approved the massive Willow oil drilling project in Alaska, angering climate advocates and setting the stage for a court challenge.

The Willow Project is a decadeslong oil drilling venture in the National Petroleum Reserve, which is owned by the federal government. The area where the project is planned holds up to 600 million barrels of oil, though that oil would take years to reach the market since the project has yet to be constructed.

By the administration’s own estimates, the project would generate enough oil to release 9.2 million metric tons of planet-warming carbon pollution a year – equivalent to adding 2 million gas-powered cars to the roads.”

Watching Credit Suisse. It hit its all time low pre market but then they fought to get it positive.
Now it’s swung down again and the selling volume is massive compared to the buying volume.
I’m watching that 2.40 area.
If it breaks that the floor falls out and it’s in huge trouble.
It’s on its final legs and it’s only a matter of time.
My guess is it needs a bailout before the week is out and then all hell breaks loose in Europe

"At approximately 7:03 AM (CET), one of the Russian Su-27 aircraft struck the propeller of the MQ-9, causing U.S. forces to have to bring the MQ-9 down in international waters. Several times before the collision, the Su-27s dumped fuel on and flew in front of the MQ-9 in a reckless, environmentally unsound and unprofessional manner. This incident demonstrates a lack of competence in addition to being unsafe and unprofessional."

Sounds like Russia was trying to take it down without shooting it.

Russian statements reads as if the drone stalled or malfunctioned or something and fell out of the sky. Interesting that they negate that their was a collision.

'Credit Suisse Group AG said it had identified “material weaknesses” in its reporting procedures for the financial years 2022 and 2021 and is adopting a remediation plan.

For the two years “the group’s internal control over financial reporting was not effective,” Credit Suisse said in its annual report released Tuesday. “Management has also accordingly concluded that our disclosure controls and procedures were not effective.”

The bank was forced to delay the release of its annual report from last week after US regulators raised last-minute queries. Credit Suisse didn’t specify whether those had been resolved.

The material weaknesses identified relate to the failure to design and maintain effective risk assessments in its financial statements, the bank said.'
