The British banned shofar blowing at the Western Wall. Despite this restriction, for the final 17 years of the British Mandate, the shofar was sounded at the Wall at the conclusion of every Yom Kippur, in defiance of the ban.
Holocaust victims defied Nazis & blew the shofar in camps too.
