"After 9 months in custody: Prosecutor brings charges against Querdenken founder
Since last summer, Michael Ballweg has been in custody in the Stammheim correctional facility. "Attention, Reichelt!" learned exclusively: Although the original accusation of completed donation fraud could not be held, the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office brought charges against the founder of the Querdenken movement on Monday.
Since 29.06.2022 Querdenken founder Michael Ballweg sits in detention under investigation in Stuttgart Stammheim. Originally the investigating public prosecutor Dr. Gräfe had accused the IT entrepreneur of having used 640,000 euros of donations, which Ballweg had collected during the Corona crisis for demos of the Querdenken movement, for private purposes. According to Ballweg's lawyers, the accusation has since been boiled down to a 146,000 euro loan for his own purposes and attempted rather than completed donation fraud.
Charge: Exact reproach still unclear
After unusually long detention under investigation, which had questioned last not only Ballweg supporters, the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office raised now on Monday charge against the Querdenken founder, as "attention, Reichelt!" exclusively from its lawyers learned."
