🇱🇾 Only 6 Arab countries foreign ministers arrived to a meeting in Tripoli

6 of the 23 member states of the Arab League sent their foreign ministers to the periodic, consultative meeting. They included the foreign ministers of Algeria, Tunisia, Comoros, Sudan, Qatar, Palestine. Others sent their envoys to the meeting in Tripoli. Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit also did not attend.

The foreign minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity (GNU), said they "insist on full exercise of Libya’s rights" in the Arab League, in reference to the rotating leadership of the pan-Arab organization.

Prime Minister Fathy Bashagha, who chairs a rival government in the east, called the meeting a "farce" orchestrated by GNU to claim that it is the internationally recognized government in Libya. He hailed those who "boycotted" the meeting and called on those who "attended" to reconsider their position.
