The first pieces of data have now been released from the 2021 census. So far, all we know is the changes in population size. The census shows that in the last ten years the population of England and Wales has grown by a total of 3,500,000, or 350,000 people per year.

To put that into perspective, that’s the equivalent of adding a city the size of Cardiff to England and Wales every single year.

As the census covers the period of 2011 to 2021, all of the changes under that period happened under a Conservative Government. The Conservatives have repeatedly pledged to cut immigration, yet the from the first data released from the census, we can see all the Conservatives pledges on migration have been lies.

The worrying thing about this data is that it most likely underestimates the issue, as illegal immigrants and those who can’t speak the language will either be completely missing from the data or vastly under represented.
