During the night, the AFU launched a new attack on the rear regions of Russia. Their objective was not only to damage Russian infrastructure, but also to create a media spectacle ahead of the press conference by Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, our air defense systems intercepted all enemy drones, causing no damage or casualties.

On the other hand, the Russian Armed Forces demonstrated to the Ukrainian formations how to combine impressive visuals with actual success on the frontlines. Within 24 hours, Russian UAVs and hypersonic missiles targeted several logistics and military facilities in the so-called Ukraine. Explosions were reported in Odessa, Nikolaev, Kyiv, Khmelnytsky, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Meanwhile, intense fighting continues in the special military operation zones. Near Marinka, Russian troops resumed their offensive towards the AFU fortified area in Pobeda. The assault troops have managed to slightly expand their control zone in this area, but the enemy still holds the tactical heights and "menagerie."

In the morning, the enemy carried out a massive drone attack on rear targets in Russia. Most of the targets were shot down, but several drones were able to damage at least one aircraft at the Morozovsk airfield in the Rostov region.

On the fronts of the SMO, as the weather conditions worsened in most directions, the battles took on a positional character. In the Kupiansk sector, the Russian Armed Forces are attempting to push through the defenses in the area of ​​​​Synkivka and the Serebryansky forestry, while the enemy is launching counterattacks.

In the Avdeevsky direction, Russian units are advancing in the Novokalynove area, and fighting is taking place in Stepovo. There are no changes on the northern flank: due to bad weather, both sides are strengthening their positions.

In the Orekhovsky sector, units of the Russian Armed Forces continue to locally attack from two directions - west of Robotyne and north of Verbovoy, occupying tactically advantageous positions. In Krynki in the Kherson direction, despite the losses and Russian aviation intervention, the AFU is able to transfer units to the left bank of the Dnieper.

On the fronts of the SMO, the Russian Army has taken the initiative on the battlefield. The Russian Armed Forces are advancing in the area of the Tor ledge towards Terny, while simultaneously repelling enemy counterattacks.

In the Soledar direction, the Russian Armed Forces have allegedly gained a foothold in Bohdanivka, advancing up to half a kilometer to the center of the settlement, as well as in the adjacent forest belt.

In the vicinity of Avdeevka in the Donetsk direction, there are also high-intensity battles. The enemy is defending but gradually losing ground: in the Novokalynove area, Russian units have advanced several hundred meters.

In the Orekhovsky direction, the Russian Armed Forces are pushing back the enemy west of Robotyne and north of Verbovoy, but the battles are generally positional in nature.

In the Kherson direction in the Krynok region, the enemy is suffering heavy losses in watercraft and personnel. Russian units are pushing the AFU out of the bridgehead in the village.

The Russian Armed Forces continue to inflict fire strikes on enemy military targets in the deep rear: strikes have been carried out on port infrastructure in Odessa, airfields in Kirovograd and Dnepropetrovsk, as well as air defense position areas in Starokonstantinov.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the night launch of Storm Shadow cruise missiles in Feodosia resulted in damage to the Novocherkassk large landing ship. You can find more information here.

▪️ Contrary to the circulating statements on the Internet about the mass launch of "decoy missiles," this is not the case. There was a single launch from Odessa on the afternoon of December 26. However, Ukrainian formations in Crimea were studying the operation of air defense and electronic warfare systems throughout December, which suggests that preparations were made for a targeted strike.

▪️ Ukrainian Su-24Ms took off from Starokonstantinov (where the Russian Aerospace Forces are constantly operating) around 1 am and flew east.

▪️ In the Nikolaev region, planes patrolled in the air for about half an hour before launching from the outskirts of Snigirevka.

▪️ At the moment of launch, the Su-24M was detected by Russian radars, which transmitted target designation to air defense systems. These systems fired anti-aircraft missiles at the Su-24Ms in the Oktyabrsky area. The effectiveness of the destruction remains uncertain, as two Su-24Ms took off from Kanatovo shortly after.

🔻If the anti-aircraft gunners missed, the Ukrainian pilots landed at Kanatovo to refuel and subsequently flew back. They regularly perform such maneuvers, periodically changing the jumping area.

❗️The fact that the port of Feodosia was hit raises questions about possible negligence on the part of the Black Sea Fleet. Considering the previous situation with the small missile ship "Askold" in Kerch, it would not be surprising if certain officials neglected basic security measures.

There are enough pro-Ukrainian citizens in Crimea. The bay in Feodosia is easily visible from nearby residential buildings, so the Armed Forces of Ukraine probably did not have any problems with guidance (and it is still possible to address them, at least partially).

🔻That night, the sound of air defense operations echoed throughout Sevastopol. Immediately after a massive strike by the Russian Armed Forces, Ukrainian forces attempted to retaliate against the peninsula.

▪️ Two S-200 anti-aircraft missiles were launched from the vicinity of the Alibey test site in the Odessa region. One of them was shot down near Sevastopol, and the second one fell in the ​​Mount Kara-Boba area without causing any damage.

▪️ It appears that the AFU once again attempted to attack the warehouses and infrastructure of the Black Sea Fleet on the northern side of Sevastopol and near Inkerman.

🔻At the same time, units of the 31st Air Force and Air Defense Divisions detected up to six air targets. It is presumed that two more S-200s fell into the water west of Cape Fiolent before reaching Crimea.

Additionally, two more missiles (based on their speed and flight path, we can conclude that these were anti-ship Neptunes) flew past Sevastopol, and their signal was lost in the direction of Novorossiysk.

It seems that the AFU intended to target other objects, but due to either a system failure or the active use of electronic warfare, the missiles deviated from their trajectory and ultimately fell into the water.

❗️As a result, the enemy's attack was unsuccessful. Judging by the nature of their actions, it seems that the Ukrainians were in a hurry, attempting to disrupt the flow of information, but without success. However, there may be further attempts in the coming days, possibly involving cruise missiles.

As we suggested yesterday, the Ukrainian forces attempted to strike Crimea again a day later. This time, the AFU approached the attack more prepared: in anticipation of the raid, the aviation moved to several bases to divert attention.

🔻At around 16:20, five Su-24M bombers and two MiG-29 fighters took off from the airbases of Starokonstantinov, Myrhorod, and Kanatovo. They launched Storm Shadow cruise missiles and several ADM-160 MALD decoys in the direction of the peninsula.

▪️ The first missile was shot down over Uyutny near Yevpatoriya. The debris from Storm Shadow caused minor damage to infrastructure, but no casualties were recorded.

▪️ Two more “Storms”, rounding Cape Fiolent, attempted to attack air defense units in Sevastopol. The missiles were not shot down, but they did not reach their target - the military personnel of the 31st division continue to work.

▪️ The crew of the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system destroyed several more air targets (the attacks were a combination of cruise missiles and decoys) over Pesochnaya Bay near Tauride Chersonese.

▪️ And a couple of “Storms” were shot down in the vicinity of the Fedyukhin Heights and at the Balaklava CHP. From the flight path, it appears that the target could have been an important energy facility.

🔻In total, Russian military personnel shot down ten missiles, most of which were Storm Shadow. The nature of this raid indicates the enemy’s tactics in attacks on Crimea.

In the initial stage, the AFU actively targeted ships and objects of the Black Sea Fleet, forcing them to stay close to their own bases. Now, the enemy is attempting to destroy the air defense on the peninsula.

And the next stage, based on the trends, is likely to involve attacks on the Crimean Bridge. It doesn't matter that it won't provide any tactical advantage. The main objective is the PR effect, as well as reputational losses for the Russian leadership.

Meanwhile, fighters of the 31st Air Force and Air Defense Division are currently repelling a drone attack, after which a missile attack is possible.
