2/23/24 - “My brother Tom is in the Neuro ICU at YNHH. On Feb 7th he had a massive brain bleed, he underwent surgery to have a clot removed and to stop the brain bleed. After the surgery my brother was paralyzed on the left side, couldn’t talk, swallow or communicate. It was undetermined how long his recovery would take because the brain bleed was so massive . . . On Wednesday, they decided that it would be best to put him back on a breathing tube. When they did there was such mucus blockage, his body stressed out, went into cardiac arrest. His heart stopped for 10 minutes. They revived him. Unfortunately, with the previous brain injury and lack of oxygen to the brain for 10 mins, Tom’s brain can’t make a comeback. At best he would be a vegetable, hooked to machines, for the rest of his life. So with the help of my family, friends & Tom’s wishes, tomorrow we are going to remove him from his oxygen"

On Dec. 27, 2023, Declan's heart stopped 💔, just 10 months after his twin sibling's did in-utero 😲
Declan was born on Aug. 3, 2023 at 8:47am. It took seven years of IVF for Declan's parents, Lani and Michael, to get him here. When he first showed up, he was one of two babies – twins – but unfortunately his sibling died in utero.
On Dec. 27, 2023, at some point between 9:40pm and 11:00pm, Declan's heart stopped. Lani and Michael found him unresponsive, and despite the best efforts of the EMTs, they weren't able to resuscitate him.

2/27/24 - “On February 21, 2024 at 5:00am Kim was rushed to Milford Hospital. Within a few hours she was transported to YNHH with a massive ruptured aneurysm, pressing on her brain stem. The surgeons were very clear with Kim's family that this was a very difficult surgery & the odds of surviving the surgery were not favorable. Miraculously, Kim survived the surgery but now she has a very long road to recovery. The extent of permanent damage is not known yet. . . She still has no movement on her right side arm or leg but they believe she has feeling. . . Regardless of the outcome, Kim will likely be needing long term care and most likely will be unable to return to her career as a CNA caring for elderly patients whom she loved dearly and was her passion”
