Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R-FL) signing of legislation barring Big Tech companies from content moderation, now under review in the courts, is a loose end in his legacy as he seeks the White House.
One of the Republican presidential candidate's biggest tech-related policy decisions was to back S.B. 7072, a bill that would allow Florida residents to sue a tech company for up to $250,000 a day for removing a statewide political candidate from its platform for more than two weeks, or notably less for county or local positions. The law passed in both the state House and Senate and was signed into law on May 24, 2021. DeSantis presented it as a challenge to Big Tech companies such as Facebook and Twitter, while critics argued it impeded free speech by requiring them to host unwanted content.

Illegals in line for application process are told not to talk to a normie conservative asking them questions. The woman telling them not to talk is part of an NGO called Jewish Family Services. That's an interesting name for an organization helping illegals flood our country.

βHunter Biden could soon find himself in a surprising position: at the cutting edge of the fight to strengthen the Second Amendment.
The presidentβs son is the target of a Justice Department investigation scrutinizing his purchase of a gun in 2018 β a time when he has said he was regularly using crack cocaine. Federal law bans drug users from owning guns.
But the constitutionality of that law β like many other provisions restricting gun ownership β is newly in question after a precedent-rocking decision the Supreme Court handed down almost a year ago.
His lawyers have already told Justice Department officials that, if their client is charged with the gun crime, they will challenge the law under the Second Amendment, according to a person familiar with the private discussions granted anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly. That could turn a case that is already fraught with political consequences into a high-profile showdown over the right to bear arms.β

A landmark Second Amendment Supreme Court ruling that President Joe Biden called βan affront to common sense and the Constitutionβ has become an element in his sonβs legal defense, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
After the Supreme Court struck down New York stateβs concealed carry law in its June 2022 New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen ruling, the president said he was βdeeply disappointedβ and vowed toβ protect Americans from gun violence.β Yet his sonβs lawyers cited the same decision in an effort to persuade Justice Department prosecutors that a prosecution against him for one allegationβlying on a federal firearms applicationβwould be found to be moot, two people briefed on the matter told The New York Times.
Hunter Bidenβs lawyers point to pending appeals court cases that use the Bruen decision to challenge aspects of the federal firearms background check system, the NYT reported.
