Just two months before 9/11, on July 24, 2001, the twin towers of the "World Trade Centre" were privatized and leased to Larry Silverstein.

EVERY MORNING Silverstein ate his breakfast on the 91st floor of the North Tower, but not on the day of the attack. On that fateful day, he went to a doctor's appointment.

He also took out insurance with the purchase, which "fortunately" also covered terrorism.

After the attack, he took the insurance company to court, which refused to pay out the full compensation amount of 3.5 billion per tower, a total of 7 billion US dollars. Silverstein won the case and was awarded and paid 4.6 billion US dollars in insurance benefits by the court.

Following the attack, he also took legal action against two airlines, American Airlines and United Continental Holdings, for inadequate safety precautions and later reached an out-of-court settlement with them for a compensation payment of 95.2 million US dollars.
