The #anthrax outbreak in Ghana poses a great public health risk to #Nigeria due to the dangerous and highly transmissible nature of the disease.

Given the #EidulAdha festivity, the National One Health Coordinating Unit led by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Veterinary & Pest Control Services - FMARD has published a public health advisory.

Early detection and reporting of suspected #anthrax cases in animals or humans is important for implementing effective control measures

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nigeria has confirmed one case of #anthrax disease in a mixed livestock farm in Niger State.

➡️ Breathing in the spores when an infected animal is slaughtered
