๐บ๐ธ๐ญ๐น๐ป๐ช๐จ๐บ๐ณ๐ฎ Judge upholds program allowing migrants from Haiti, three other countries into the US each month
The Biden administration can keep operating a program that allows a limited number of migrants from four countries to enter the U.S. on humanitarian grounds after a federal judge on Friday dismissed a challenge from Republican-led states.
๐ป21 states, led by Texas, had argued that the program is forcing them to spend millions on healthcare, education and public safety for the migrants. An attorney working with the Texas attorney generalโs office in the legal challenge said that the program โcreated a shadow immigration system.โ
However, U.S. District Judge Drew B. Tipton said the states had not shown they had suffered financial harm because of the humanitarian parole program that allows up to 30,000 asylum seekers into the U.S. each month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela combined. That was something the states needed to prove to have legal standing to bring the lawsuit.
๐ฃ โIn reaching this conclusion, the Court does not address the lawfulness of the Program,โ Tipton wrote.
The White House welcomed the ruling. An appeal by Texas and the other states seems likely.

๐บ๐ธ๐ญ๐น Florida Republicans ask Biden to allow Navy to aid in interdictions of Haitian migrants
A group of Florida Republicans is asking President Biden to allow the Navy to conduct maritime interdictions and interceptions of migrants fleeing from Haiti amid the unfolding chaos in the country.
Florida Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz, Gus Biliarakis, Anna Paulina Luna and Daniel Webster all signed the letter sent to Biden calling on him to declare an โanticipated mass migration of aliens en route to, or arriving off the coast of, the United States.โ They referenced an executive order signed by former President George W. Bush to address illegal migration in the Caribbean region.
๐ฃ โA declaration pursuant to Executive Order 13276 is necessary to reinforce the State of Floridaโs efforts by utilizing Department of Defense vessels to conduct maritime interdictions and interceptions of aliens from Haiti and repatriate them, preferably to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, as this limits the financial obligation of U.S. taxpayers,โ the lawmakers wrote.

๐บ๐ธ The U.S. cities Biden is flying hundreds of thousands of migrants in controversial program that sparked national security fears
The vast majority of migrant flights President Joe Biden's White House is transporting directly from foreign countries to U.S. airports to bypass the southern border are landing in Florida.
A new analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reveals that 326,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela arrived in Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' state since the program started in January 2023.
Lawyers for Biden's immigration agencies refused to disclose through a FOIA request data on which airports were receiving the undocumented migrants, claiming it would compromise safety and create national security 'vulnerabilities.'
