Images of objective control of the "secondary" defeat of the advanced S-band 79K6 Pelican (79К6 "Пеликан") all-round vision and target designation radar system by Lancet-3 kamikaze UAV. #info #SAM #Lancet #SEAD #Kh35
It is known that a few minutes before the impact of the low speed "Lancet-3", the radar was hit by a multi-purpose tactical missile Kh-35U, launched either from the ground launcher of the complex 3K60 "Bal" (3К60 "Бал"), or from the suspension node of a Su-34NVO multirole fighter-bomber, while the Pelican was detected by the interferometric passive sensors of the L-150 Pastel (Л-150 "Пастель") irradiation warning system of one of the Su-34NVO or Su-35S.
As a result, the launched Kh-35U missile, also captured the radiation of the target with the AESA homing head "Gran-K" ("Грань-К").

As for the 79K6 radar, we are talking about a promising surveillance radar based on digital S-band radar with high resolution and low range error, providing not only an overview of the airspace, but also target designation to modern Western SAMs like the NASAMS, "Patriot PAC-3MSE" and SAMP-T on over-the-horizon low-altitude targets with RCS as little as 0.02 - 0.03 square metres. When equipped with the Link-16 tactical network data exchange terminal, this radar can be included in the network-centric radar circuit of NATO air defence and missile defence position areas.

The 130 kW klystron provides this radar with the ability to detect targets with an RCS of 3 square metres at an elevation of 10 km at a range of up to 250 km. Targets with 0.1 RCS at about 100 km. The detection range of low-altitude targets such as Kh-35U or Kh-69 with their typical elevation of flight at 50-25 m does not exceed 25-20 km on condition of flat terrain.
The 79K6 Pelican radars are not placed on elevation towers in the mixed air defence brigades of the AFU, and therefore their capabilities in detecting and tracing the routes of our tactical missiles Kh-59MK/2, Kh-69, Kh-35U and Kh-101 are minimal.

The radar has a limited elevation angle capacity, the 12 scanning beams of the "Pelican" directional pattern are limited to +55 degrees.
The maximum altitude of detectable and escorted targets is 40 kilometres.

Interesting footage of a #Lancet destroying a tank of Ukrainian Soviet origin while it was being transported by truck and was therefore far from the front line.

A quite important enemy vehicle was hit in this episode of work by the Lancet-3 kamikaze UAV in one of the near frontline areas of Kharkov Oblast.

The american counter-battery radar AN/TPQ-50.
Operating in the decimetre L-band from 1250 to 1350 MHz and having a cylindrical/ring all-round PESA, the AN/TPQ-50 is capable of detecting mortar shells (from 82 to 120 mm), artillery shells and MLRS rockets at distances of 5, 8-10 and 15 km (The range of scanned elevation angles is between 0° and 30°), calculating the enemy artillery firing positions on the ascending branches of trajectories with an accuracy of up to 50 metres.

So, this product was integrated into the counter-battery reconnaissance and attack circuit of the enemy SPGs and provided the Central Command to the MO-120-RT61 mortars, as well as to the individual units and batteries of the M109A6 ‘Paladin’ SPGs deployed at an operational depth of about 20 kilometres.

More importantly, this counter-battery radar is capable of functioning in a network-centric link with vehicles like the M7 BFIST advanced artillery reconnaissance and surveillance target designation vehicle, which was captured by Russian troops a day earlier.

The Lancet burned a rather rare Ukrainian electronic reconnaissance system “Khortitsa-M” ("Хортица-М") in the village of Kamyshevakha on the Zaporizhzhya direction. The distance to the front line is about 25 kilometres.

This morning we saw Ukrainian propaganda images of a modified ‘field’ vehicle.
It was a HMMWV with 128-mm MLRS RAK-12.
Today we already have images of a Lancet destroying one of them.
